John H. Powell Jr., customer relations manager
John H. Powell Jr. died Sunday, March 23, 2014, at Cadbury at Lewes. He was born Aug. 27, 1927, the only child of John H. Powell Sr. and Ruth Fowler Powell of Scranton, Pa.
He graduated from Keystone College and spent most of his life in Philadelphia, Pa. as a customer relations manager in the garment industry. This involved frequent commutes between Philadelphia and New York City.
John loved animals and contributed freely to animal charities.
He moved to Sussex County in 2006. He is survived by his partner of 44 years, Robert Cochran.
Although he suffered from Alzheimer's disease during his last years, John will be remembered by those who knew him as an outgoing fun loving friend.
His body was cremated as he wished.
Services were private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Lewes.
