D. Ann Baker, devoted homemaker

D. Ann Baker, 79 of Dagsboro, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Renaissance Health Center in Millsboro.

Ann was born in Ocean View May 26, 1934, daughter of the late Clarence and Cecile (Tyre) Mitchell. She was a lifetime member of the Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and a devoted homemaker. Ann will be forever remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ashley Baker; two brothers, Harvey and Horace Mitchell; and three sisters, Nellie Davis, Dorothy Hancock and Betty Turner. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Kenneth A. Baker; a daughter, Brenda B. Lewis and her husband Ronald of Millsboro; and a son, Kenneth Allen Baker and his wife Becky of Dagsboro. Ann is also survived by two grandsons, Brian Lewis and his wife Sara of Delmar, Md. and Kyle Brasure and his wife Jennifer of Dagsboro; a great-granddaughter, Lily Brasure of Dagsboro; a brother, Thomas Mitchell and his wife Ruth Ann of Dagsboro; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 29, at St. George’s Cemetery in Clarksville.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Ann’s name to Ronald McDonald House, 26345 Network Place, Chicago, IL 60673, or Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
