Members of The Music School of Delaware faculty and friends welcome the community to the first of a two-part concert series, The Music Masters: Faculty & Friends Part I, starting at 7 p.m.,Tuesday, April 8, at Avenue United Methodist Church, 20 N. Church Ave., Milford. Tickets are $10 for adults, and $5 for students and seniors. This concert was originally scheduled for Jan. 21 but was postponed due to bad weather.
“This is such a unique and special program for us,” said Layne Thompson-Payne, Milford Branch director for the music school. “We were happy that we were able to reschedule it after all this snow.”
The program will feature selections by Bach, Brahms and Strauss, among others. This will be the first time the Milford Branch has been able to feature the organ on a program.
“I think it will be a really nice evening of music,” Thompson-Payne said. “To be able to feature the organ for the first time is exciting.”
Musicians performing will be Kevin Chamberlain, organ; Justin Chou, violin; George Freeman, double bass; Liliya Maslov, piano; and Jennifer Crowell Stomberg, cello.
The event is part of the Music School’s Music Masters Concert Series, which celebrates the talents of the exceptional professional musicians in the region and on the Music School of Delaware faculty. The second concert to feature faculty and friends will take place at 7 p.m.,Tuesday, May 13, at Avenue United Methodist Church.
