Mary Jo Wilhelm Tyndall, retired teacher

Mary Jo Wilhelm Tyndall, 93, of Rehoboth Beach, died quietly Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford.

She enjoyed good health and a happy life until the last. She was born Nov. 14, 1920, in Wilmington, and was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania.

She taught elementary school and ended her 26-year teaching career in 1975 in the Mount Pleasant School District in Wilmington.

She lived in Barefoot Bay, Fla. for 19 years with her husband, Thomas Woodrow Tyndall, who died in 1989. She enjoyed golf, bridge and was a world traveler.

Surviving are her daughter, Judith T. Jester and her husband David; two grandchildren, Thomas Dean and his wife Jodi and Mary Dean Whittington and her husband David. There are four great-grandchildren, Thomas Maines, Bethany and Lawrence Whittington and Jenna Dean.

All services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
