Plans are under way for the Beebe Medical Center Auxiliary Spring Tea Sunday, May 18

April 16, 2014

Plans are well under way for the 4th annual Beebe Medical Center Auxiliary Spring Tea to take place Sunday, May 18, at 2 p.m. at the Lewes Presbyterian Church at 133 Kings Highway in Lewes. This popular annual social tea has its roots in one of the earliest Auxiliary events and draws more than 100 Auxiliary members and guests.

Seventy eight years ago the Beebe Healthcare Auxiliary was founded to promote the welfare of the hospital, provide for student nurses, direct the baby guild and to take care of necessary equipment needs.  One of the new Auxiliary's first functions was an event called “Pour Tea.”  Today, Auxiliary members and friends from throughout the community attend this afternoon gathering, and enjoy a collection of sandwiches, scones, and delectable sweets, English breakfast tea and passion fruit (decaf) tea, talk to friends and listen to live entertainment.

The cost of the event is $18 a person, with reservations due by May 10. Tables can be reserved and will seat seven individuals. Seating is limited so make reservations soon by contacting Pat Sandy at (302) 226-7732 or Muriel Pfeiffer at (302) 947-2640.
