Virginia L. Geth, God's missionary

Virginia Louise Geth, 66, of Millsboro was called from life’s labor to receive her reward of everlasting life Good Friday, April 18, 2014.

She was born March 21, 1948, as the fifth child of 15 to the late Willie Sr. and Ellen Parker.

Virginia was educated in the Portsmouth (VA) Public School System, and she was a proud I.C. Norcom High School, class of 1967 graduate. With a kind, compassionate spirit, she loved being employed as a certified nursing assistant at LakeTaylor City Hospital for 30 years. Even with health challenges, Virginia Louise Geth continued to serve as God's missionary by sending care packages to the sick and shut in.

She is survived by her dedicated and loving husband of 42 years, Leon E. Geth Jr.; and her three adoring children, Edward (Lisa), NaTasha, and “Her Manuel” Emmanuel (Tiffany); four grandchildren who were her pride and joy, Kyara, Mya, Emmanuel Jr. (EJ), and Edward Jr. (DJ), one godson, Alexander Harrison Jr. (AJ); three brothers, Willie Jr. (Celia), John (Sarah), and James (Dee); five sisters, Maxine, Mary, Mamie, Bernice and Elizabeth; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, adopted family and friends.

A wake will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 23, at Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro. Her funeral and interment will be in her home state of Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to A Hope 4 Tomorrow, a nonprofit, tax-deductible organization that she regularly supported and whose mission of giving and caring for the community embodies her legacy.
