Plans for 2015 event now underway
April 26, 2014

Delaware State Fair organizers are now making plans to bring back the Triple Threat BBQ, Beer & Music Festival for April 10 and 11, 2015. This brand-new, self-produced, record-breaking event ran April 11-12 and featured two days of BBQ, beer, wine, music, entertainment, a People's Choice tasting event, and a Kansas City Barbecue Society-sanctioned competition.

"The Triple Threat offered a great opportunity for people to get out of their house and have a good time with family and friends. The turnout for the event was fantastic, with almost 9,000 attendees. For a first-time event, we are really proud of how well the festival went, and we are excited to announce that we will be returning in 2015," said Robin Rockemann, rentals and concessions manager for the Delaware State Fair.

As for the competitive element of the competition, champions were crowned and records were broken. The final count for competitive teams was 122, a Kansas City Barbecue Society record

The big winners and home states included Grand Champion Aporkalypse Now of Virginia.; Reserve Champion Finn's Finest BBQ of Delaware; and Delaware State Champion Finn's Finest BBQ. Other winners included Mountaire's People's Choice Chicken winner M&E BBQ of Delaware, People's Choice Pulled Pork Winner Checkered Flag 500 BBQ of Pennsylvania, All-In and Dessert winner Good Smoke BBQ of New York, and BBQ Amateur Overall winner Overall BBQ of Delaware. The Mid-Atlantic Barbecue Association winner was Finn's Finest BBQ. The full list of category winners and other placings can be found at
