Heather Pleasants, spa professional, chosen for task force with International SPA Association

Heather Pleasants, spa director, operations consultant, and marketing/public relations director for HP Consultants and Toppers Spa Salons, is a member of the 2014 Focus Group Task Force for the International SPA Association. Pleasants will work with her spa industry peers to develop new ideas and help move the association and the spa community forward.

“We are thrilled to welcome several new spa professionals to serve on our task forces,” said ISPA President Lynne McNees. “Heather’s commitment to the spa community through her service as an ISPA task force member will help the association continue to evolve.”

ISPA is recognized worldwide as the leading professional organization and voice of the spa industry. Pleasants has been a member of ISPA since 2001.

Pleasants said, “After 23 years in the spa/wellness industry, I still have my passion along with my experience to offer in helping to grow and define what the spa/wellness industry will be in the future.” She has been in management in the health club/spa industry for over  23 years, from commercial facilities to private condominium facilities and resort/hotel facilities, culminating to opening the first full-service spa at the landmark Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York.

Pleasants  has managed facilities for American Leisure, The Milstein Corporation, Red Door Spas, Plus One Management, and Toppers Spa Salons and has worked in some of the most prestigious properties in the world including The Plus One Spa at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City, The Bristol Plaza Condominiums, The Red Door Spa in Gaithersburg, Md. and Toppers Spa Salon at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino. Pleasants has also worked as a consultant, developing the operations manual for Toppers Spa Salons, developing and implementing a  5-Diamond Customer Service Training Program with spa operations committees with the condominium board for the Bristol Plaza Condominium. She served on the Hotel Spa Directors Committee for Plus One Management.  Pleasants has also worked on marketing/PR for Toppers Spa Salons.   Originally from Bucks County, Pa., Pleasants received her BA in communication arts from Marymount Manhattan College, and holds numerous certifications and affiliations including The Day Spa Association and ISPA.
