Spectacular Gordons Pond Trail nears completion

April 25, 2014

Mike Frawley of Culver Construction cuts wood to be placed as decking support for the new Gordons Pond Trail in Cape Henlopen State Park. The 2-mile section of the 3-mile-trail – linking Gordons Pond with Herring Point in the park – is expected to be open in late May or early June. The $2.5 million extension will then be part of a 15-mile loop system of trails connecting Rehoboth Beach and Lewes. The new trail will include two observation decks and nearly one-half mile of elevated boardwalk over dunes and wetlands.
