May 3, 2014

Friends of the Lewes Public Library will launch its first sunset cruise Saturday, May 31, aboard the Cape Water Taxi Discovery. Only 50 tickets will be sold.

A variety of foods prepared by Chef Angela Mershon will be paired with Dogfish Head beers and wines specially selected by Teller Wines. In addition, Charles E. Epifanio, Harrington Professor of Marine Science from the School of Marine Science and Policy, University of Delaware, will be aboard to provide an understanding of the canal’s natural beauty and point out interesting features of this portion of the Intracoastal Waterway connecting the Broadkill River and the Delaware Bay to Rehoboth Bay.

Tickets may be purchased at the Lewes Public Library (cash or check only) for $100 per person ($60 tax-deductible). Guests will board the Discovery at 6 p.m. at the dock behind the Wharf Restaurant on Anglers Road in Lewes. The Discovery will return to the same dock around 8:30 p.m.

This sunset cruise is generously supported by Half Full, Kindle and Striper Bites. For more information, call 302-645-2733 or go to www.leweslibrary.org.
