Section of Dune Road closed for a week

Beginning Monday, May 12, a section of Dune Road in Cape Henlopen State Park will be closed for about one week. The road provides access to the ocean and Herring Point. The closure will allow construction to be completed on a new parking lot and for work to be done on the new Gordons Pond Trail, which is expected to open in June. Some of the improvements to the road will include paving and striping. Dune Road is expected to reopen on Monday, May 19.
