We have recently attended Meet and Greet gatherings of two outstanding candidates for seats on the City of Lewes Council - Bonnie Osler and Rob Morgan. Here is what we learned and our impressions of them.
Since her election to the council in 2012, Bonnie Osler has worked with mastery and diligence. Bonnie's effectiveness is honed by a distinguished legal career. She has served as an attorney and manager at the U.S. Department of Justice and in the Senior Executive Service at the Department of Homeland Security, as well as in private practice. Presently, Bonnie is the council's liaison to the Lewes Planning Commission. She also works with Lewes' Scenic and Historic Byways Committee and Lewes Unleashed. In addition, Bonnie serves on the boards of the Greater Lewes Community Village and the Historic Lewes Farmers Market. She is also a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church.
Rob Morgan is a responsive and attentive listener. Presently, Rob serves on Lewes' Finance Committee and Lewes' Planning Commission. He comes to us after a distinguished legal career with Perot Systems, the U.S. Attorney's Office in Washington, D.C., and the Second Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals. Rob is a member of the Bar in several states, as well as the U.S. Supreme Court. He was also awarded the Bronze Star for his service with the U.S. Army. Rob presently serves as member of the vestry of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, secretary and instructor with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute in Lewes, and treasurer of Lewes' Homeowners Association. Rob is also general counsel and director with the National Wildlife Refuge Association.
At a time when they are urgently needed, these outstanding candidates bring devotion and a wealth of knowledge and experience to Lewes. They have the professional background and skills to effectively represent us. We are confident that they would serve our interests with energy and professional expertise. We urge you to vote for both of them.
