The Delmarva Chicken Festival, a longtime celebration of the importance of chicken on the Delmarva Peninsula, is gearing up for its 65th and final run Friday and Saturday, June 20 and 21, near Centreville, Md.

When the two-day family fun event gets underway at the Queen Anne's County 4-H Park along Route 18 near Centreville, there will be attractions for all ages. Highlights will include the event's trademark giant fry pan that will be cooking tons of mouth-watering chicken throughout the festival. There will be many other chicken dishes, along with a tasty variety of traditional festival foods.

The youngsters won't want to miss the baby chicks, carnival rides, a petting zoo, and other children’s activities, while the adults will enjoy an arts and crafts show, a farmers market, a home and trade show, a custom car show, a motorcycle show, and plenty of live musical entertainment.

Leading the list of musical headliners are Elvis and Patsy Cline tribute artists Ted and Stephanie Tharp. Other performers will include Three Penny Opera featuring rock and blues, the bluegrass music of The Annapolis Bluegrass Coalition, the variety band Best Kept Secret, country music by The Jones Boys, the a capella harmonies of Harmony on the Bay, and The Ashley Mitchell Band, a pop-cover show band. Closing out the festival Saturday, June 21, will be an entertaining, spirited show starring Hot Tub Limo.

The event will continue Saturday, June 21, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Admission is free, and ample parking will be available in marked parking areas in or near the festival grounds.
