Yes, Your Tide . . . coming in for last local show

May 28, 2014

‘Yes, Your Tide is Cold and Dark, Sir,’ a movie shot primarily in Lewes and Rehoboth Beach, is returning to the Movies at Midway at 7 p.m., Saturday, May 31.

The film is about a music teacher who mysteriously disappears on the beach, in the dunes, with three of his young students. ‘Yes, Your Tide...’ contains strong language and adult situations.

Chris Malinowski, the movie’s writer, director leading-role actor and co-producer will be on hand to answer questions after the screening.

Shot in the winter of 2011 on a $150,000 budget, the film debuted in the summer of 2012 with two sold-out shows at the Movies at Midway.

Last year it played at the Chain NYC Film Festival; Timecode: NOLA Film Festival in New Orleans; London International Film Festival; Wilmington Film Festival in Delaware; and American Film Market in Los Angeles.

‘Yes, Your Tide...’ will be released on DVD and online in July.

Malinowski used the Cape Region in his 2005 film ‘Alms, You Say,’ about a teenage vagabond with ties to a coastal community. He said he returned to shoot his latest movie here because the area evokes a sense of history.

Proceeds from the showing will go to the Lewes Historical Society. Go to www.historiclewes.org to find out more about the organization.

Tickets are $15 and a few will be available at the door. Seating is limited. Complimentary wine will be served while it lasts.
