Lillie H. Tingle, Stockley Center retiree

Lillie H. Tingle, 95, of Millsboro, born Aug. 22, 1918, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at the Atlantic Shores Rehabilitation & Health Center in Millsboro.

She was the daughter of Alfred S. Rogers and Laura M. (Rust) Rogers, both deceased.

She was married to the late Chester Toledo Tingle of Omar, who died Aug. 13, 1986. She retired after 20 years of service from the Stockley Center in Georgetown, and then became a school volunteer in the Foster Grandparent Program. On Feb. 18, 2005, she received a plaque of recognition and appreciation for 20 years of service as a foster grandparent from the State of Delaware.

Lillie is survived by a cousin, Gerald Mitchell; nieces, Jean Tanner, Jane Moffit and Celeste Bunting.

A funeral service will be held Friday, May 9, at noon at the Frankford chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher St., Frankford, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Interment will be in Prince George’s Cemetery in Dagsboro.
