Cape girls' lax demolishes Ravens 21-2

The Cape girls' lacrosse team pounded the Ravens of Sussex Tech May 6 by a crooked 21-2 score to snap a two-game losing streak and continue its dominance of Delaware teams. It was the Vikings' 66th straight win over teams of the First State.

Cape goals were scored by Karalyn Joseph and Sarah Tappan with four, Jordan Brown and Lexi Woodruff with three, Kat Judge and Cailey Thornburg with two and Allie Yeager, Karissa LeMaire and Tess Bernheimer with one.

Tappan added five assists, while Judge notched three, Lizzie Frederick had two and Yeager, Joseph, Woodruff and Bernheimer each recorded one.

The Ravens' two goals were scored by Dorian Zimmerman and Torrie Huk.

Cape held a 36-11 advantage in shots and a 25-1 advantage in draw possessions. Cape goalie Sam Broadhurst collected six saves.

The Vikings (8-5) have two games remaining in the regular season. They travel to Tower Hill Friday, May 9, for a game at 4 p.m., and end the season at Ursuline Academy at 3:45 p.m., Wednesday, May 14.

Sussex Tech (5-7) has two home games left on its schedule versus Dover Friday, May 9, and Polytech Tuesday, May 13.
