Raymond Sileo Jr., local handyman

Raymond Joseph Sileo Jr., 71, of Ocean View, formerly of Delran, N.J., passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes.

Ray was born in Philadelphia, Pa., Oct. 9, 1942, son of the late Raymond and Josephine (Chance) Sileo. He retired in 2002 with almost 30 years of service as a first grade mechanic for the Public Service Gas & Electric Co. in Moorestown, N.J.

After his retirement in 2002, he moved to Ocean View, where he continued to work as a handyman for the local residents in his housing community of Savannahs Landing. Ray loved crabbing, fishing, coin collecting and attending local yard sales.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Raymond Joseph Sileo in 1983. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Claire C. (Kaelin) Sileo; a son, Joseph Rocky Sileo of Delran, N.J.; two grandchildren, Samantha Rae Sileo and Christopher Joseph Sileo both of Delran; two brothers, Rocky Sileo of Cherry Hill, N.J. and Richard Sileo of Philadelphia; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 12, at Resurrection Parish, formerly St. Casimir Catholic Church, 502 New Jersey Ave., Riverside, N.J. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Ray’s name to the Tunnell Cancer Center, 18941 John J. Williams Hwy., Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
