Crafters and vendors will offer hand-crafted and gift items for sale, as well as many other booths representing community services.

While tradition of fun, games and food continues, there’s something new at this year’s fair: a Healthy Living Expo.

The free expo will be located under a large tent. Fair-goers will be able to take advantage of free screenings after they complete a registration and consent form. Once registered, each person will get a tote bag containing informational hand-outs and a wrist band giving them access to the free screenings.

Among the assessments are blood pressure screening, cholesterol and glucose testing, face screening for sun damage and osteoporosis screening. In addition, representatives from Bayhealth will provide information about a variety of programs and services.

Adjacent to the Healthy Living Expo, participants will find a children’s activities tent. Children will be able to decorate get well cards for patients and visit with Bart the Bear, Bayhealth’s mascot who makes his debut at this community event.

Pamela J. Marecki, Bayhealth’s assistant vice president of marketing, says the Healthy Living Expo will enhance the fair.

“We’re combining with an already successful event,” she said, adding that the expo brings the mission of the Healthier Sussex County initiative close to home.  “We invite our friends and neighbors in the Milford community to join us and take advantage of the free screenings and health information.

“I’m really excited to bring the Healthy Living Expo to the Milford Memorial Hospital Fair this year,” she said.
