Charles J. Silvestri, retired police officer

Charles J. Silvestri Sr., 78, of Georgetown and formerly of Abington Twp., Pa., died Thursday, May 8, 2014. He was the husband of Pauline R. (nee Lally); father of Charles J. Jr., Frank R. (Tatiana), James R. (Carol), Paul M. (Tawnee), Elizabeth D. Eliff (Brad) and stepson Robert Gordon (Francine).  He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his brother Richard (Eleanor); and his niece and nephew.

He retired after 25 years of service as an Abington Twp. police officer. He enjoyed his retirement by spending time on his land and fishing.

Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, May 14, at 11 a.m., at St. John of the Cross, 2741 Woodland Road, Roslyn, Pa. Relatives and friends are invited to the church after 10 a.m. Interment will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park.
