Robert Milton Wallace, retired HVAC mechanic

Robert Milton Wallace, 82, of Lewes, formerly of Woodlawn, Md., passed away Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was born Jan. 26, 1931, in Cumberland, Md., son of the late Milton H. and Gertrude (Price) Wallace.

Robert proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed a lifelong career as a HVAC mechanic, most recently with the Charles L. Greer Company in Linthicum Heights, Md. After retiring, he and his wife Ruth relocated to Lewes, where Robert would spend his free time fishing and boating on the Delaware waters. He also enjoyed gardening, whether it be seasonal flowers or vegetables. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Robert is survived by his wife, Ruth Evelyn (Sanders) Wallace; one son: Brian Wallace and wife Tomoko of Japan; two daughters: Bonnie Shipley and husband Russell of Eldersburg, Md. Deborah Wallace of Nottingham, Md; five grandchildren: Christy and Brandon Shipley of Eldersburg, Mari Nordhues of Oklahoma and Sarah and Lisa Wallace of Japan; and two great-grandchildren: Darren and Cayden of Eldersburg.

A graveside service with military honors will be held Tuesday, May 27, at 12:15 p.m., at the Woodlawn Cemetery & Chapel, 2130 Woodlawn Drive, Gwynn Oak, Md.
