Rosina Sanfilippo Cook, retired justice of the peace

Rosina Marie Sanfilippo Cook, 86, died Sunday, May 18, 2014.

Rose was born Oct. 15, 1927, in Buffalo, N.Y., and spent much of her life in Western New York and Pennsylvania before retiring to Millsboro in 2001. She practiced her faith at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Georgetown. Rose was a member of the New York State Judicial Conference and served three terms as justice of the peace in the town of Red House, N.Y.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall D. Cook; her parents, Cologero and Concetta (Navarro) Sanfilippo; brother Frank Phillips; sister Josephine Lombardo; sister Bessie Queeno; daughter, Barbara Myers; and son-in-law Mark Sutphin. She is survived by her brother, Alphonso Sanfilippo; daughter Susan Sutphin; and son Jeffrey Spica. In addition, Rose is survived by her grandchildren, Gabriel (Brandi) Sutphin, Gillie Sutphin Tice, Julian Meyers-Szupinska (Joanna Szupinska) and Michael Meyers; and five great-grandchildren: Mary, Sarah, Emily, Madison and Willow.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon, Thursday, May 22, at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 202 Edward St., Georgetown. Interment will be private in Covenenter Cemetery in Centerville, Pa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Cheer Center, 546 S Bedford St., Georgetown, DE 19947, in memory of Rose Cook.
