Daniel Agostarola, dedicated legion member

Daniel Agostarola, 92, of Lewes, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014, at his home. He was born May 3, 1922, in Philadelphia, Pa., son of the late Alfredo and Mary (Capanich) Agostarola.

Mr. Agostarola received the Camden County Military Service Medal for his honorable service in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a dedicated 20-year member of American Legion Post 28 and a former parishioner of the Catholic Church of St. Mary in Cherry Hill, N.J.

Mr. Agostarola enjoyed playing poker games with his family and friends alike. He was an avid reader who enthusiastically read six newspapers every day. He was also a master at crossword puzzles and an avid fisherman. Mr. Agostarola was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, ggpop and a dear friend who will be missed dearly.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Agostarola was preceded in death by his wife, Millie Agostarola (Messina) in November, 1990; and his son, Robert Agostarola in July, 1993. He is survived by his two daughters: Joanne Agostarola and Denise Balsama; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday, May 23, at 1 p.m., at the Colestown Cemetery, 100 Kings Highway North, Cherry Hill, N.J.

Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
