Arnold Herman Timm, Bethlehem Steel retiree

Arnold Herman Timm, 75, of Ocean View, formerly of Essex, Md., passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014, at his home.

He was born in Baltimore, Md. Feb. 28, 1939, the son of the late Alexander and Gertrude Timm. “Arnie” was employed with Bethlehem Steel in Sparrow’s Point, Md. with over 40 years of service, retiring in 1998.

Arnie was a social member of the Mason Dixon VFW Post 7234 in Ocean View, a charter member of the East Sussex Moose Lodge 2542 in Roxana and a charter member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles 4528 in Ocean View. He was also an avid Ravens and Orioles fan, enjoyed coin collecting and he also collected baseball and football steins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Arnold Joseph Timm in 2009; and a sister, Alexis Martha Zaloudek in 2012. Arnie is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Margaret J. (Powell) Timm; a daughter, JoAnn Timm of Baltimore; and two grandchildren, Amanda L. Timm of Alexandria, Va. and Alexander Joseph Timm of Baltimore.

A visitation will be held from noon until 1 p.m.,  Wednesday, May 28, with a celebration of his life to begin at 1 p.m. at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road, Ocean View. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Arnold’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association by visiting www.alz.org.
