William 'Bill" Krewatch Jr., 'Airplane Bill'

William “Bill” Vincent Krewatch Jr., 72, of Millsboro, passed away Friday, May 23, 2014, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, after a long illness.

Bill was born in Baltimore, Md. to Margaret Bunting Krewatch and William V. Krewatch Sr. Bill was an outstanding member of Delaware AmVETS where he spent a lot of his free time.

Bill grew up in the Greenville area, and then moved to New Castle and later laid roots in Long Neck. He worked several years at Delaware Carbonated Beverage and later retired from PATs at Georgetown Airport, which gave him his nickname Airplane Bill.

Bill was an avid music lover, an outstanding racquetball player, loved racing sprint cars at Watkins Glen, N.Y., an animal lover, enjoyed cooking and fine wine, as well as the beach life.

Bill was predeceased by his son Jonathan Read Krewatch; and is survived by his wife of 34 years, Alleen Krewatch; sons Charles Hatton (Katie), Douglas Hatton, William V. Krewatch III and Shawn Hatton (Vicky),;brother James Bunting Krewatch and his wife Marty; and five grandsons.

A visitation will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 4 p.m., Wednesday, May 28, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Rdoad Millsboro. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made in Bill’s honor to Long Neck AmVETS Post 22, 32369 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, DE 19966.
