Milton man, 21, dies in crash

May 29, 2014

The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed the operator and severely injured a passenger.

The crash occurred about 12:55 a.m. May 29 as Brandon M. Robertson, 21, of Milton was driving a 1989 GMC Sierra northbound on Sand Hill Road just north of Rudd Road. As the truck entered a moderate left curve, it ran off the east side of the road and overturned onto its passenger's side. The windshield struck a utility pole and severed it. The truck rotated clockwise before it came to a stop at the base of the pole.

Robertson, who was properly restrained, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger, Anthony B. Huling, 18, of Georgetown was properly restrained and was extricated from the truck and flown by Delaware State Police Aviation to Christiana Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition.
