Bait shop hooks local anglers
There is a new bait shop in town.
A-Lure Bait and Tackle LLC, in the Palmer Shopping Center on Long Neck Road opened its doors May 31.
The shop sits in the same spot of an earlier bait shop, so the transition has been smooth for the new owners, husband and wife Devin and Glenna Fortney.
The friendly couple recently moved to the area from Hershey, Pa. They originally intended for their business to be an online internet service until people came into the shop while they were stocking it.
Devin said they weren’t planning on doing on-site business but people walked in and kept asking for bait.
The shop is small and tucked away but customers can expect to purchase mostly anything fishing-related from rods, buoys, lures and of course, bait.
The Fortneys are optimistic about the bait and tackle shop’s success.

The shop is open Wednesday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 5:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, find the shop on Facebook or call (302)-200-0469.
