Hammer Time! Habitat for Humanity 5K won by Young and Conant

The Habitat for Humanity 5K May 31, run on the Irish Eyes course in Lewes, attracted 139 runners and was won by Jeff Young, 23, from Collegeville, Pa., in a time of 16:47.

The first woman to cross the finish line was Cindy Conant, 53, from Kensington, Md., completing the 3.1-mile distance in 19:11.

“A couple weeks ago I ran the Pocono Marathon in 3:04,” Conant said. "The hardest part was running downhill, but it was a really nice race of about 1,500 runners.”

Ed Jordan, 59, won the male master's race in 19:09, while Lisa Sherman, 40, was female master's champion in 21:13.

Some notable age group winners and times included Lindsay Rambo, 11, 25:15; DJ Farren, 11, 20:45; Sonny Landis, 18, 17:01; Ali Coning, 20, 22:57; Jon Velasquez, 20, 20:07. Others included Anthony Romono, 29, 19:02; Frank Cannon, 37, 19:18; Jen Rambo, 44, 25:55; Breck Vanderwende, 40, 20:17; Mardiny Ung, 47, 22:38; Chris Stanley, 45, 19:33; Lisa Romano, 53, 23:35; Dave Farren, 40, 21:31; Jill Extract, 57, 26:49; Clifton Anderson, 60, 20:56; Tim Abbott, 68, 22:59; Gene King, 71, 25:41; and Ed Green, 82, 37:57.
