Richard John Settings, owned contracting firm

Richard John Setting, 53, of Rehoboth Beach, formerly of Wilmington, passed away Friday, May 30, 2014, at his home.

Richard was born in Trenton, N.J., son of Lou Setting and the late Marie E. (Reynolds) Setting. He was an entrepreneur by first opening a sub shop in Wilmington and operated a fruit bus before opening his contracting business called R. Setting Contracting until his disability. Richard will be forever remembered as a caring man who enjoyed making people laugh.

He is survived by his father Lou Setting of Wilmington; a sister, Beverly Setting Shuster and her husband Chuck of Wilmington; a sister, Diane Panetta; brother, Lou Setting; a daughter, Jaquelyn Lauer of Millsboro; a granddaughter, Josalyn also of Millsboro; a nephew Charles Shuster and two nieces, Mariah and Alexis Shuster all of Wilmington; aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 19, at 7 p.m., at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 905 N. Broom St., Wilmington. Interment will be private.
