Dagsboro man dies after jet ski runs aground at inlet

June 9, 2014

A 55-year-old Dagsboro man died June 6 after officials say his jet ski ran aground on a sandbar, and he tried to free it.

Randolph White was riding a jet ski about noon when he got stuck on a sandbar, said Sr. Cpl. Carl Winckoski of the Division of Fish and Wildlife Enforcement.

Agents responded to a report that a man was trying to free his jet ski; a Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Co. rescue jet ski drove White to shore, and he was taken by ambulance to Beebe Healthcare. White was pronounced dead at 1 p.m., Winckoski said.
