Vincent “Vinny” Sapienza, 80, of Long Neck, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014, at home.
Vinny was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of the late Frank and Sarina (Fieggetta) Sapienza.
He was a very successful and prominent jockey, racing thoroughbred horses. He enjoyed fishing, boating and trips to Florida and North Carolina; he also enjoyed smoking his pipe.
He is survived by his family, friends and loved ones. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested doing a random small act of kindness for someone in memory of Vinny.
Services will be private.
