Clifford A. Gilbert Jr., retired supply officer

Clifford A. Gilbert Jr., 86, of Millsboro, formerly of Wilmington, passed away at his home Monday, June 9, 2014.

He was born in Putney, Vt., son of the late, Clifford and Ella (Bourne) Gilbert Sr. He served as seaman 1st class with the U.S. Navy. Clifford was a retired supply officer for the Veterans Administration.

Cliff was an avid golfer. He enjoyed going to yard sales and volunteering at the senior center and caring for his cat Lucky.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine L. Gilbert; a brother, John; and sisters, Shirley and Gertrude. He is survived by two sons, Curtis Gilbert of Dundee, Ore. and Mark Gilbert of Middletown; a daughter, Kellee L. Gilbert of Foster City, Calif.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be private.
