Picnic in the Park comes off without a hitch

June 24, 2014

The Friends of the Lewes Canalfront Park want to thank everyone who came out on a perfect summer day to enjoy the 3rd annual Picnic in the Park. We hope you had a great time! We’ve heard so many great things from those who attended and we have so many people to thank for making it all happen. First and foremost, our amazing Lewes restaurants! We are so fortunate to have so many fabulous dining options here in Lewes, and for this special day they took their culinary masterpieces and brought them all together in one location: Agave, The Buttery, Gilligan’s, Half Full, Irish Eyes, Jerry’s Seafood (I remembered this year Chris!) Kindle, Nectar, Rose & Crown, Striper Bites, Touch of Italy and 2 Dips Ice Cream.

A huge thank you to our main sponsors: Schell Brothers, The Inn at Canal Square and Nucar Lewes Automall who continue to show their dedication to the park year after year! We couldn’t do it without out all of our sponsors: The Cape Gazette, Kid’s Cottage, Berkshire Hathaway, The LeeAnn Wilkinson Group, Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, Jack Lingo Realtors and R&L Liquors. Local businesses that also came on board: Below Book Auto, CJ’s Beach Bays, Clean Cut Pavers, Fehrenbach Flooring, Flowers by Gay Knapp-Marini, Griswold Home Care, Henlopen Appliance, Key Advisors Group, Lewes Printing, Lewes Realty, Lewes Wooden Boat Fund, Truitt Nationwide Insurance, Sign-A-Rama, State Farm-Jeannie O’Donnell and Tootie’s Poop Patrol.

The City of Lewes gave us tremendous support: Carol Richardson, Paul Eckrich, Lewes Street Maintenance Dept., Lewes Police and EMS, Lewes Chamber of Commerce and all our city officials.

And finally, what is an event without volunteers?! And we had the best of the best, including the “Tentations” You were all amazing!

The entire board of the Friends of the Lewes Canalfront Park thanks you all and we look forward to seeing you in the park!
