Charles E. West, retired clerk

Charles E. West, 76, of Millsboro, passed away Monday, June 16, 2014.

Mr. West was born in Lewes, Nov. 15, 1937, to the late Edward B. and Lillie M. Holston West. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd E. West and Robert Vincent West.

Charlie worked as a clerk at Wells Country Store in Dagsboro for many years and also at Bethany Bay Golf Course. He enjoyed playing rook and buying lottery tickets. His liked watching football and baseball and his favorite teams were the Indianapolis Colts and the Boston Red Sox. Charlie was a quiet and very giving man. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Ronald West and wife Linda of Georgetown, Sandra Wells, of Millsboro, with whom he lived; Wayne West and wife Patricia of Dagsboro, Vicki Chandler of Millsboro, Bruce West and wife Robin of Georgetown and Brenda Cohee of Georgetown; and well as great and great-great-nieces and -nephews who were very special to him.

A public viewing will be held Friday, June 20, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro. A graveside service will follow at 11 a.m., at the Millsboro Cemetery. Pastor David Souder will officiate.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
