County Bank partners with Milford Housing on Self-Help homebuilding

July 6, 2014

County Bank volunteers recently helped a local family of Milford Housing Development Corporation frame exterior and interior walls in Lincoln as part of the nonprofit’s Self-Help Housing Program. Leading the bank’s team of volunteers was Chairman and CEO David Gillan, who also presented a $2,000 donation to MHDC. County Bank encourages local volunteerism by extending to its employees a paid day to be used for community service.

MHDC is a nonprofit affordable housing provider. Founded in 1977, its mission is to provide decent, safe, and affordable housing solutions to people of modest means. A few of the primary services include transitional housing, rental housing, emergency home repair, housing rehabilitation, Self-Help Housing Program and financial literacy training.
