Milford Family Fun Festival a success

July 6, 2014

Dear Milford community:

On June 26, The Multi-Cultural Church & Community Center sponsored the 4th Family Fun Festival in Bicentennial Park. We served 700 hotdogs and 100 burgers to over 400 people! We sang songs, watched praise dancing, jumped in the moon bounces, had our children’s faces painted, had our blood pressure and glucose levels tested, and mingled with local healthcare vendors and community activists. This free event could not have taken place without community support.

We would like to thank Cheryl Doucette of the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition Inc. for all her hard work and organization. Much thanks goes to Eli Venezuela from 1st State Manufacturing for his prayers and financial support, and to Don Fisher for both his time entertaining the children and his financial support. Many vendors and community supporters that made this event possible and need to be thanked for their contributions are Delaware Hospice, The Delaware Pharmaceutical Society, People's Place, BayHealth, Choose Health Delaware, Community Health Outreach, Mountaire Inc., Polytech Adult Education, Tax Management Services of Milford, and the Delaware Office of Women’s Health.

Thanks also to Trinity Electric, Vitas, and WAWA of Milford for food and drink donations and Arena’s and Delaware Fitness for day-of logistics.

In addition to the vendors, The Multi-Cultural family wishes to thank Scott Borders and his group Crossing Borders for providing music and prayer again this year. We would also like to thank Diane Miller for providing face-painting for the children, and to 5 Star Rentals for providing the moon bounce!

Local churches and Pastor Eric from La Esperanza, Pastor Phil from City Church Refuge, and Minister Butch from Church of the Nazarene gave their time and energy to the event and promoted it within their churches.

Finally, thank you to Mayor Brian Shupe for opening our event and for supporting our efforts.

We look forward to serving our community in 2014 and beyond and look forward to having the 5th Annual Milford Family Fun Festival next summer.

Thanks again for all your support.
