Aquacare Physical Therapy director offers canine rehabilitation

July 10, 2014

Lauren Nuttle, a doctor of physical therapy at Aquacare Physical Therapy, has completed the first portion of the Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner, Introduction to Canine Rehabilitation training. Aquacare Physical Therapy in Millville brings canine rehabilitation, a specialized approach to rehabilitation of man’s best friend, to the lower Eastern Shore.

Nuttle has nine years of experience as a licensed physical therapist and has been a dog owner and lover for her entire life. She watched as her labradoodle Lexi began to struggle to get up and greet her each evening as she returned home from work. Knowing that she had the knowledge base to treat such problems in her human patients, she began searching for a program that would allow her to have the same impact with her dog as well as other canines.

Under the guidance of Nuttle, Aquacare will offer  canine rehabilitation including manual therapy such as joint mobilization, soft tissue massage, and passive range of motion. Therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education and owner education are provided to allow pets to safely return to their previous level of function following injury or surgical procedures.

Initial evaluation is $75 with each subsequent session at $50. Aquacare offers a special of pre-paying for 10 sessions to get 10 percent off. Stop by the clinic or call 302-539-3110. Aquacare is located at 38069 Town Center Drive, Unit 15 in Millville, in the Giant Shopping Center on Route 26.
