The previous record attendance of 450 viewers was shattered June 30 during the Monday Night Movie on the Beach showing of “Frozen.”  The new record attendance of more than 750 is welcome but will require additional equipment to ensure that sound is audible to all.  New equipment which will cover an increased sound range has been ordered and will be used for the remainder of the 2014 season shows.  “Frozen” will be presented again Tuesday, Aug. 19.

All movies will start at approximately 8:30 p.m. on the beach at Dagsworthy Avenue in Dewey.  The schedule is as follows: July 14 - “Curious George” (2006), July 21 - “Fly Me to the Moon,” Aug. 4 - “The Smurfs,” Aug. 11 - “The Smurfs 2,” Aug. 18 - “Despicable Me 2,” Aug. 19 - “Frozen,” Aug. 25 - “Planes.”

All metered and permit spaces are free from 5 to 11 p.m., Monday-Wednesday. These events are weather dependent.  In the event of inclement weather, cancellations will be determined no later than 7 p.m. on day of event.  Notice of cancellation will be posted at the Dewey Beach Life Saving Station bulletin board.  Staff will notify Dewey Beach accommodations of cancellations made prior to the start of an event.  If weather is clear, events will take place as scheduled, but may end at any time if weather changes.
