Janet M. Hoff, active volunteer

Janet M. Hoff, 68, a resident of Milton for the past eight years, formerly of New Jersey, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, with her husband at her side.

She was born in Staten Island, N.Y., the daughter of Margaret (Jones) Milasch and the late Leonard Milasch.

She was a member of Goshen U.M. Church in Milton and volunteered in their backpack ministry where they gather and distribute food to low income children.  She was an avid reader and belonged to the Women of Wagamon’s Book Club.  She was an active volunteer in her community as a tutor at HOB Elementary School. She enjoyed going to the beach and playing Mahjong.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her son, Brian Ferko.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Walt Hoff; children, Carol Stanek and her husband Patrick of New Jersey, daughter-in-law Marianna Pellegrino of New Jersey and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Edwin and Vicky Hoff of Milton; three grandchildren, Bryan Ferko, and  Shaelyn and Haley Stanek.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 19, at 11 a.m., at Goshen U.M. Church, 103 Mulberry St., Milton.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at www.lls.org.
