Martin L. White, skilled tradesman

July 8, 2014

Mr. Martin L. White, 49, of Long Neck, passed away suddenly Sunday, July 6, 2014. Mr. White was born in Mount Clemens, Mich., Oct. 24, 1964, to William J. White and Nita (Fenison) White. Martin was preceded in death by his father.

Martin was a skilled tradesman and business owner. He jokingly called himself a "surface application engineer," aka a painter and coatings specialist. He loved boating, fishing, traveling, gambling and, most of all, hockey. He played hockey his whole life and could quote any statistic thrown at him. He even once stumped Gordie Howe on his own stat. He was known for his sense of humor and stellar work ethic. He was devoutly loyal, always kept his word, and was known as a good friend and one who could keep a confidence at all cost. He was generous to a fault.

His family was his greatest joy. He is survived by his wife of 29 years Patricia; son Kenneth; and daughter Brandi (who is expecting Martin's first grandchild in August). His mother, Nita White (Paul Husted); brothers Robert, Russell (Pamela), William, Marcus, Bryan and Barry will miss him dearly. He has many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and countless friends who qualify as family.

Services will be held Thursday, July 10, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 800 Fleetwood Dr., Seaford. The public viewing will be held at 10 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to help offset funeral expenses. Please use the link http://tinyurl.com/whitefamilyfund.
