George E. Hudson, farmer, boat captain
George E. Hudson, 82, of Ocean View, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.
George was born in Frankford, son of the late Russell and Dorothy Hudson. He was a retired farmer and a charter boat captain in Ocean City, Md. for 20 years. He enjoyed deep sea fishing, ocean cruises, raced speedboats and enjoyed learning to fly and spending the winters in Florida. He was a member of Masonic Doric Lodge 30 in Millville and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon Evergreen Forest.
George is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Barbara (Powell) Hudson; a son, Russell A. Hudson and his wife Sherry of Omar; a sister, Dorothy Murray of Omar; grandson Timmy Hudson and his wife Candi of Cecilton, Md.; a great-grandson, Cooper Hudson; a nephew Keith Murray and his wife Darnell of Frankford; and several other nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 15, at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher St. in Frankford, where friends and family may call after 1 p.m. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in George’s memory to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
