Lewes Yacht Club Swim Team defeats Sussex Community Swim Team 360-187

July 11, 2014

The Lewes Yacht Club Swim Team hosted the Sussex Community Swim Team, and when the waters calmed, the LYC squad had swum to a 360-187 victory at the Lewes 25-meter pool.

"It's always a fun time swimming against the Sussex team," said head coach Renah Scudlark. "We have a friendly rivalry because quite a few of our summer swimmers swim with them in the winter."

Chet Mariner (8 and under boys) and Josh Reinhold (9-10 boys) both swam personal best times in their 25 Freestyle and captured a first-place ribbon.

Livi DiSalvo (6 and under girls), Madison Conrad (11-12 girls), and Keegan Pando (13-14 boys) had first-place finishes in all three of their individual events, while Sarah Nutter (9-10 girls) swam a personal best time in her 100 IM and qualified for championships.

Lex Johnson (9-10 boys) swam a personal best time in his 25 Freestyle and qualified for championships, and Bella Binnersley (8 and under girls) swam a personal best time in her 25 Breaststroke and qualified for championships.

Steph Philcox (13-14 girls) swam personal best times in both her 50 Backstroke and 100 IM. She ended up qualifying for  championships for both of these events.

The LYC Waves will play host to the Sussex Family YMCA team Thursday, July 17. The championships will be held at the Seaford Boys and Girls Club Saturday, July 26.
