Clifford P. Fisher, retired mechanic

Mr. Clifford P. Fisher, 91, of Dagsboro, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014.

Mr. Fisher was born Feb. 3, 1923, in St. Joseph, Mo. to the late Martin and Della Fisher. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by two sons, Clifford P. Fisher Jr. and George H. Fisher; a brother, Melvin Brumett; and a sister, Hazel Roberts.

Cliff worked as a mechanic for the Mushroom Transportation Co. in Philadelphia, Pa. He was a member of St. George’s Church in Clarksville, and a U. S. Coast Guard veteran having served in World War II. He was also a very active a member of the VFW Post 7234 in Millsboro and the American Legion Post 24 in Dagsboro where he was instrumental in opening this post. Cliff was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Emma Fisher of Dagsboro; a daughter-in-law, Joan Fisher of Philadelphia; a son, Donald Mueller and his wife Laurie of Fairless Hills, Pa.; two daughters, Debra J. Nureck and her husband Kimm of Laurel and Dorene J. Allen and her husband Jim of Dover, N.H.; 10 grandchildren, Lisa, Scott, Kristopher, Donald, III, Joseph, Jonathan, Matthew, Luke, Jessica, and Bryan;  as well as 10 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 22, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call after 10:30 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
