Mr. Mack K. Smith, 53, of Millsboro, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014.

Mr. Smith was born in Salisbury, Md., Dec. 19, 1960, to the late Mack C. and Irma Timmons Smith. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a brother, Roy Smith in 2012.

Mack worked as a loader operator for Melvin Joseph Construction Co. He was a member of American Legion Post 24 in Dagsboro, where he loved to sing karaoke and dance. He loved NASCAR and was a Jeff Gordon fan as well as a Dallas Cowboys fan. He also liked hunting and farming and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Joan M. Smith of Millsboro; a daughter, Joanie Smith and her fiancé Josh Rogers of Gumboro; a son, Ken Smith and his wife Kelly of Millsboro; two brothers, Timmy Smith and his wife Mary Gale of Gumboro, and Richard Smith and his wife Lisa of Millsboro; sister, Debbie Smith and partner Amy of Millsboro; sister-in-law, Sarah Smith of Selbyville; three grandchildren, Austin Rogers, Zachary Smith and Blake Smith. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 23, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Carey’s Cemetery, Millsboro.

Flowers are accepted or donations in Mack’s memory can be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
