Elin Hilderbrand to sign books at Browseabout July 27

July 24, 2014

Elin Hilderbrand has long been known as the Queen of the Summer Novel (People), delivering irresistible stories of love, loss, friendship, and hope that unfold against the perfectly charming and breezy backdrop of Nantucket Island. She will return Sunday, July 27, to Browseabout Books in Rehoboth Beach to sign copies of her latest release, “The Matchmaker.”

“The Matchmaker” is a touching story of passion, destiny, betrayal, and heartbreak that explores the meaning of “meant to be.” Nantucketer Dabney Kimball Beech, 48, has always had a gift for matchmaking. Some call her ability mystical, while others - like her husband, a celebrated economist, and her daughter, who is clearly engaged to the wrong man - call it meddlesome. Naysayers aside, 42 happy couples have Dabney to thank for their lasting relationships - proof that Dabney has never been wrong about love.

Never, that is, except for the case of herself and Clendenin Hughes, the green-eyed boy who took her heart with him long ago when he left the island to pursue his dream of becoming a journalist. Now, Clen is back on Nantucket, and Dabney has never felt so confused - or so alive. But when tragedy threatens her own second chance, Dabney must face the choices she’s made and share painful secrets with her family.

The signing is free and open to the public, and will begin at 11 a.m., Sunday, July 27. For anyone unable to be there, Browseabout will gladly have a copy personalized by the author. For more information, go to browseaboutbooks.com or call 302-226-2665.
