Police are searching for a Lincoln woman and a Georgetown man who they say sold a car to another woman July 22, but never delivered the car.
Heather Turner, 31, and Ryan L. Neyhart, 29, drove the woman to Redden Road in Georgetown where they told her an Acura Integra was for sale, said Master Cpl. Gary Fournier of the Delaware State Police.
The woman gave the couple $1,500 for the car, but Neyhart told her he needed to complete the tag and title work before the woman could drive off, Fournier said.
The couple drove the woman to Fitzgerald's Salvage near Lincoln and dropped her off; they told her they would return with the keys and title for the car. The couple did not return, Fournier said.
Fournier said the couple is wanted in Sussex County Superior Court for violation of probation. They had permission to drive Neyhart's father's blue 2002 GMC Sonoma pickup truck, but only to court, he said. Fournier said the couple may have driven to Virginia or Pennsylvania in the pickup, which has a tag number of CL98373. The couple also has the father's cell phone.
The couple is wanted on warrants of theft greater than $1,500, second-degree conspiracy, theft under $1,500 and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
