Gallery One in Ocean View announces a two-day workshop, Dichroic Jewelry, with Fay Kempton from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday, Aug. 5 and 7.

Students will learn about the “bling” in glass jewelry as they learn the basics of design and create their own. Finished pieces will be three pendants with two pairs of matching earrings or one pendant with earrings and bracelet or a nightlight. Students can also negotiate for a different combination.

Class one will have students cut and glue the glass (those afraid of cutting can use tiny scrap pieces - they make lovely mosaic creations. In class two, students will assemble the fired pieces with gold and silver plate findings.

Cost is $40 for the two-class workshop. All materials and tools are provided with a $30 fee payable to Fay Kempton. Eight students maximum may register.
