Raymond 'Ray' Duff, fishing derby organizer

Raymond M. "Ray" Duff, 73, of Long Neck, a long time resident of Montgomery County, Pa., passed away peacefully at his home Monday, July 28, 2014. Born Oct. 6, 1940, he was the son of the late John and Rose (ne Carlino) Duff, and beloved husband to Mary Duff (ne Samuelson), with whom he shared 38 years of marriage.

Ray graduated from Saint Matthews High School in Conshohocken, Pa., class of 1958.

Ray was a longtime member of the Norristown Maenner-Chor Club and was very involved with the Stony Creek Anglers. He loved NASCAR racing and traveling. He was most recently involved in organizing a fishing derby for Pot-Nets/Bayside, the community he resided in since July of 2011.

In addition to his loving wife Mary, Ray is survived by his daughter, Denise (Carmen) Delli Gatti; son, Michael Duff (fiancée, Elizabeth Freas); stepdaughter Felice Hildebrand (long-time friend Tony Yatsko); and granddaughter, Amanda Delli Gatti (fiancé, Matt Garr). He is also survived by a sister, Regina (Wayne) Katz; and two brothers, John (Teresa) and Joseph (Bernice) Duff; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a niece, Karen Duff Turnbach.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, Aug. 1, from noon to 1:30 p.m., at Limerick Garden of Memories, 44 Swamp Pike, Limerick, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Ray’s memory to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963, or any cancer organization.
