Plans underway for Oct. 17 A Pink Affair to Remember

Organizers welcome donations of accessories for annual cancer fundraiser
August 8, 2014

Since 2007, A Pink Affair to Remember events have raised over $60,000 for local cancer support organizations in Sussex County including the Cancer Support Community Delaware. The Cancer Support Community Delaware and Delaware Hospice have been named the two beneficiaries of the 2014 A Pink Affair to Remember.

Plans are underway for the Eighth Annual A Pink Affair to Remember to be held Friday, Oct. 17, in Rehoboth Beach. Highlights of the event are a delicious luncheon, an accessories fashion show and sale, a Chinese auction and a silent auction.  The event was started by a small group of women with a simple goal: women helping women dealing with cancer.

This group of women never formed an organization, gave themselves a name, assigned titles or even opened a bank account, but with community generosity and their determination, that small group has raised over $60,000. All of the money has been give to local nonprofit organizations to help women dealing with cancer.

Donations of jewelry, hats, gloves, purses, scarves, belts, and dressy jackets for the fashion show and sale fundraiser are now being accepted. Call Rosalie at 302-645-6324 or Ruth at 302-644-0217 for more information and donation drop-off locations. Tax deduction forms will be available from the beneficiaries. Invitations to A Pink Affair to Remember will be sent via email in September.  Forward email addresses to Morgan Fabber at mfabber@cscde.org to be included on the list.
