Fire damages North Shores home

Firefighters put out a fire on the second floor of a North Shores home Aug. 2. REHOBOTH BEACH VOLUNTEER FIRE CO.

A fire started in a North Shores home at 8:23 a.m. Aug. 2 damaged a second-floor bathroom and exterior of the home.

Flames were coming out of the second floor of a home at 16 Far View Road when firefighters from Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Co. arrived, said Warren F. Jones, spokesman for the fire company.

Firefighters extinguished the fire and confined it to a second-floor bathroom. There also was damage to the exterior wall, he said.

Firefighters from Lewes assisted and Indian River Volunteer Fire Co. covered during the alarm. The Delaware State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
