Silent majority should speak out on center

August 7, 2014

As an active member of the Cape Henlopen Senior Center, I am writing hoping the silent majority of our membership will speak out against this witch hunt that seems to have taken over our center.

People are approaching our members at church, in restaurants and on bus trips to support their agenda. Members are complaining that their names are appearing on the petition that they never signed. Information that should be confidential has become public knowledge.

We have a growing membership of greater than 1,054 people, and .5 percent are causing this disturbance while 95 percent are happy with the progress of our center. A copy of the by-laws is given to each new member and has always been available on request. Board minutes and financial information are also available on request.

People come to our senior center to participate in activities, not get caught up in this madness. Let’s act like adults, come to work, do your job and try to get along.
